About Afrika Village Square

The Afrika Village Square Arts and Cultural Centre, a unit of the African School of Economic, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management, serves as a vibrant hub dedicated to celebrating and promoting Afrikan culture and tourism. This dynamic centre features a variety of resources, including AROGRAPHICS which that highlight the richness of aro culture, Folk Amusement Theatre that showcases traditional performances, and a dedicated media space for folk amusement. Additionally, the library and research centre provide invaluable information and resources for scholars and enthusiasts alike. Institutions within the centre foster collaboration and innovation, while the Igbodum social media platform connects individuals committed to the unity and development of Black Afrika. Together, these elements create a comprehensive environment for cultural exchange and economic growth, reinforcing the importance of Afrikan heritage in today’s global landscape.

AFRIKA VILLAGE SQUARE ARTS AND CULTURAL CENTRE

  1. To organize vacations and tourism to historical sites, exportation and curation of African culture abroad, exhibitions and events planning.

  2. To carry on the business of organizing and hosting continental, national, regional and state festival of arts and culture, hospitality, culinary in all its ramifications, including but not limited to management and research.

  3. To engage in the business of distribution, sales, marketing, manufacturers representation on audio and audiovisual materials, arts, products and related items, advertisement, branding and patent rights.

  4. To carry on the business of general contracts import, export, merchandising, developing and exploiting, preservation of historical artifacts.

  5. To act as promoters of arts and cultures, programme management, pick-nick and recreational activities, music and talent shows activities.

  6. To deal on arts and culture exhibition, arts gallery and culture and cultural exhibitions shows.

  7. To borrow or raise money in such manner as the company shall think fit, to secure the repayment of any money borrowed, raised or owed by mortgage charge or lien upon the whole or any part of the company’s property or assets.

  8. PROMOTE AFRICAN ARTS AND CULTURE: Foster the appreciation and understanding of African art, music, dance, and cultural heritage through exhibitions, performances, and educational programs.

  9. SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISANS: Provide platforms and opportunities for local artists, craftsmen, and performers to showcase and sell their work, thereby supporting their livelihoods and preserving traditional practices.

  10. ENHANCE CULTURAL TOURISM: Develop and promote cultural tourism experiences that highlight the unique heritage of Africa, attracting visitors and stimulating local economies.

  11. ENCOURAGE CULTURAL EXCHANGE: Facilitate cross-cultural interactions and collaborations between African and international artists and cultural organizations to broaden perspectives and foster global understanding.

  12. EDUCATE AND EMPOWER COMMUNITIES: Offer workshops, training, and resources to local communities to enhance their skills and knowledge in arts, culture, and tourism, contributing to sustainable development.

  13. PRESERVE AND DOCUMENT HERITAGE: Undertake initiatives to document and preserve traditional cultural practices, languages, and historical sites for future generations.

  14. FOSTER ECONOMIC GROWTH: Drive economic growth by creating job opportunities and stimulating local businesses through arts and cultural tourism activities.

  15. ADVOCATE FOR CULTURAL RIGHTS: Promote and protect the cultural rights of African communities, ensuring that their heritage is respected and valued in the global cultural landscape.

  16. Oragnaise training and educational programmes in Arts and culture.

  17. To do all such other lawful things as may be considered to be incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
